Hi my name is Riley Halliday! I build puppets, write scrips, fabricate sets, and dream up costumes in a careful assemblage of joy and theater.
I spent my youth as a photographer where I’d piece together thrift store artifacts and clothing, weaving a snapshot of a dream world.
As I’ve added other pursuits to my wheelhouse I’ve found that the driving force of everything I make comes from one core belief; everything and everyone, when given a chance, can tell a story.
With that, I am often doing and undoing. Allowing a photograph to inspire a video, using recyclables to craft a marionette then taking that apart and making another. I organize artist's creative spaces, co-run online artistic communities, and listen to stories of the importance behind a piece of furniture; taking in as much of the world as possible so I can give a reimagined one back.
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it.
If you’d like to work with me in any capacity, head to my contact page.
